A Restaurant with Rooms in the Heart of Somerset

The brue at Lydford is a little hotel treasure in the heart of Somerset, a much praised 'restaurant with rooms' created by owner-managers, Andrew Chantrell and Kelly Hobbs. Andrew and Kelly had between them 23 years experience in hospitality before putting their considerable skills into this gem of a restaurant with rooms. Now their vivacious characters and their passion for high standards are the hallmarks of their success. Restaurants and small hotels in Somerset can measure themselves against the high quality of service, accommodation and food set by the brue.

The brue at lydford is a handsome 19th Century Victorian house in Lydford on Fosse, near Somerton, Wincanton, Glastonbury, Street and Langport, in the heart of Somerset and only four miles from the A303. The house is on the Fosse Way, one of the oldest roads in Britain, running from Exeter to Lincoln. It was built by the Romans in the middle of the 1st century AD and marked the western boundary of Roman Britain.

The restaurant at the brue is now a favourite with discerning local diners, some of whom travel quite a distance for the pleasure, as well as with visitors to the area and travellers heading west along the A303. Good food is the primary focus of the brue, be it breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea or dinner and is, quite simply, superb.

There are also plenty of things to do near this handsome hotel in the heart of Somerset.
